What is American Auto Horns?

American Auto Horns is company that prides itself on reviving and restoring automotive horns from classic American vehicles of the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's. Our horn systems can be installed on almost every car, van, truck, motorcycle, or trailer in the world as a plug-n-play system. Do you hate how your stock horn sounds? An American Auto Horn system will capture anyone's attention with their loud, unique, and booming Classic American Car sound.

Where do these horns come from?

We travel across the country to scour junkyards and scrapyards for these long discontinued Delco-Remy® manufactured car horns. These horns were found on select classic American vehicles such as the Cadillac DeVille, Buick Roadmaster, and the Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra from the 1960's throughout the late 1990's.

Why don't I just go and buy my own set from a junkyard?

I'm glad you asked! We do all the legwork for you. We take pride in every single horn we pull from each car. Each horn is individually tested, sandblasted, primed, and painted. The horns are only one piece of the puzzle. For these horns to reach full potential, they must be used in conjunction with a relay and associated wiring harness which comes with our Four Horn systems. We even offer mounting brackets if you so choose to use them.

Will these work on my vehicle?

Yes! Our horn systems only require two basic things to function, a constant 12VDC power source (such as your battery), a 12VDC signal when the horn button is pressed, and a suitable body ground. Our systems will work on most vehicles on the market today, including cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles, and trailers. If you have any concerns on whether these would work on your vehicle, please contact us prior to purchase.

How loud are these horns, are they legal?

Our Four Horn Systems produce an average sound level of 120 Decibels, or between a Jackhammer and a Gunshot. Yes, they are legal in all 50 U.S. States! Remember, these horns were used on existing vehicles and are D.O.T approved.
